Action Nouvelle Vie – Le 2159
For 25 years now, the mission of Action Nouvelle Vie has been to ensure the well-being of underprivileged children. Le 2159 is the youth-oriented part of the organization whose purpose is to provide housing and other assistance services to 15- to 25-year-olds. Their objective is to prevent and curb homelessness, delinquency, sexual exploitation and the impacts on mental health.
United Way Centraide
United Way Centraide supports a vast number of community organizations that help people and families living in poverty or social exclusion get back on their feet, become contributing members of society and live with respect and dignity. SSQ Insurance selected United Way Centraide as its corporate charity Canada-wide.
Diplôme avant la médaille
The mission of the Diplôme avant la médaille program is to curb the risk of dropping out by introducing vulnerable students to sports, providing them with personalized support and rewarding them for their perseverance and academic success. The program endorses the belief that every student has the capability and the right to a bright future.
SSQ Insurance supports FitSpirit, an organization whose mission is to encourage young teenage girls between the ages of 12 and 17 to exercise. It wants to show them that physical activity is not only good for them, but fun too. This organization aspires to be one of the biggest influencers of physical activity among teenage girls in Canada.
Fondation du CHU de Québec
The mission of the Fondation du CHU de Québec is to provide financial support to the Centre hospitalier universitaire de Québec, a teaching hospital located in Quebec City. Donations help fund a number of research projects including Seinbiose, the objective of which is to develop custom external breast prosthetics for women who must undergo a mastectomy.
Fondation des Auberges du cœur
This is a provincial support network of 30 Auberges du cœur youth hostels located all over Quebec. It makes housing accommodations available to young people aged 12 to 35 years in an effort to curb homelessness and the collateral damage normally associated with it. It also offers psychosocial intervention services designed to create a secure and enriching environment. Since 1987, more than 80,000 young people have relied on this network at some point in their lives.
Well-established in Quebec City, Le Piolet is an organization that helps underprivileged young adults aged 16-35. Through housing accommodations, a welcoming space and psychosocial intervention services, Le Piolet is able to meet the critical needs of the most vulnerable. It offers a certified cooking program designed to teach young people workplace skills and make it easier for them to become contributing members of society.
Fondation Le Grand Chemin
SSQ Insurance supports Le Grand Chemin, whose mission is to provide specialized services to Quebec teenagers aged 12 to 17 struggling with drug and alcohol, gambling and/or cyberaddiction. A member of SSQ Insurance’s senior management serves on the foundation’s board—a testament to our company’s resolve to help young people adopt healthy lifestyle habits.
Pignon Bleu – An essential community service
Pignon Bleu is a community organization that helps low-income families in Quebec City's Saint-Sauveur district. It offers tutoring services, community cooking services and a work insertion program for unemployed adults. SSQ Insurance supports Pignon Bleu by letting it use part of the house that belonged to its founder.
SOCODEVI (Société de coopération pour le développement international) is a network of cooperative and mutualist organizations that assist partners in developing countries in creating, protecting and redistributing resources. As a founding member of SOCODEVI, SSQ Insurance actively participates in promoting the cooperative model around the world.
By contributing to the Grande campagne de l’Université Laval, SSQ Insurance supports the Mon Équilibre UL program, a strategic research partnership and the Rouge et Or Volleyball Club.
Mon Équilibre UL
Mon équilibre UL is a Université Laval program that promotes healthy lifestyle habits. It contributes to campus life and vitality by setting up inspiring projects. One such initiative is the Escaliers ça marche activity, which is a timed event that consists in climbing as many steps as possible around the TELUS-Université Laval Stadium.
Strategic Joint Research Project of Université Laval and SSQ Insurance
Working with the university’s science and engineering faculty and students, the objective of this five-year experimental project is to develop new and innovative ways to enhance the digital customer experience. It analyzes the feasibility of new technologies applicable to SSQ Insurance’s Customer Centre, including voice recognition, artificial intelligence (AI), predictive analytics and big data.
Rouge et Or volleyball club
SSQ Insurance has been a partner of the Rouge et Or volleyball club for over 25 years. SSQ Insurance is also partner of the Challenge SSQ de volleyball du Rouge et Or, which is an event that promotes athletic excellence. The success of this partnership stems from the values shared by both organizations, namely pushing your limits, perseverance, and team spirit.
YWCA Niagara Region
The YWCA Niagara Region stands for gender equity and gives a voice to marginalized members of the community. In addition to emergency shelter services for homeless women, men and families, the YWCA Niagara Region offers food, transitional housing and psychological support as well as skills development workshops and programming designed to help young people integrate the job market, foster autonomy and improve their quality of life.
