The SSQ Marathon was held last week-end in Longueuil and once again it proved to be a resounding success with nearly 4,000 participants taking part. By getting involved with an organization whose activities are devoted to youth, SSQ Insurance wanted to give more to the Longueuil community. The company invited its employees and their families to run or walk for the Maison de Jonathan as part of the marathon, and gave $2 for every kilometre ran. It is with this community spirit in mind that nearly one hundred employees and their family members rose to the challenge. Thanks to their effort, SSQ Insurance donated $3,000 to the Maison de Jonathan organization.

Representatives of the Maison de Jonathan were also on hand at the SSQ Insurance zone during the marathon. They met the participants and supporters and took the opportunity to promote the services they offer to young people facing any number of challenges. In addition, three of the young people from the Maison de Jonathan had an exceptional opportunity to participate in the 5K event.

"The Marathon de SSQ de Longueuil has allowed us to convey the importance we place on our social role as a mutualist corporate citizen. We are happy to contribute to this collective success and make a real difference in the community. I especially want to congratulate the employees and their families who rose to the challenge, helping us give back to the youth at the Maison de Jonathan,” said Jean-François Chalifoux, CEO of SSQ Insurance.
