The 2017 Quebec City Mayor’s Ball: A charity event that brings hope to troubled youth

Quebec City Mayor Régis Labeaume proudly announced the 7th annual Ball of the Mayor of Quebec City for the Fondation Jeunes en Tête. This year's philanthropic event, with SSQ Financial Group CEO Jean-François Chalifoux as its Honorary President and under the auspices of the mayor of Quebec City, will be held on Friday, December 1, at the Fairmont Le Château Frontenac. Under the theme of Japanese Spring, this festive and prestigious evening will dazzle all who attend by whisking them away to the land of the rising sun, complete with a sumptuous and authentic culinary experience.

“The 7th edition is once again a perfect opportunity to rally Quebec City’s business community around our youth,” said Quebec City Mayor Régis Labeaume. “It’s our duty to help them accomplish their projects, make their dreams come true. Supporting young people is investing in our future!”

"At SSQ, we believe that supporting the future generation is very important. By being involved in such an initiative, we are able to actively contribute to organizations whose devotion and actions make a real and positive impact on young people’s lives," said Jean‑François Chalifoux, SSQ’s CEO.

Held only a few weeks before the holiday season, the purpose of this benefit will be to promote the mission of the Fondation to the members of Quebec City's business community and mobilize them around it.

All proceeds will be used by the Fondation to reach out to organizations that help young people who are experiencing problems in the Quebec City and Eastern Quebec areas.

"This fundraising activity is the continuation of a wonderful philanthropic relationship between Quebec City and its business people. Together, we will give our youth confidence in the future," said Éric Bujold, Chairman of the Board of the Fondation Jeunes en Tête.

Each year, thousands of young people between the ages of 11 and 17 rely on youth assistance organizations in Quebec City and Eastern Quebec for help. To date, thanks to the Ball, the Fondation has been able to help more than 12,000 teenagers and invested more than $1.7 million in youth assistance programs.
